Last Sunday, Pastor Travis continued our series on prayer by introducing the prayer that Jesus prayed with his disciples. We focused on Jesus' opening words in his prayer: "Our Father in Heaven." By praying to the Father in this way, Jesus not only invited all of those around him to come into the presence of God, he also made the Almighty God of the Universe accessible, relational, intimate... family. Jesus' prayer revolutionized not only how we prayer but how we view and relate to God himself.
Last week, Pastor Travis shared with us that the story of Ruth is the Story of God and highlights the generous, giving, mission-driven heart of God the Father for his people. He reminded us that our hope is founded in the truth that God loves us, is with us, and is for us - and that because of that hope, our lives are changed from "suffering" to "blessing."
